Jake: "People Don't Understand Why Vienna and I Are Together"

Bachelor Jake Pavelka doesn't care if people don't get why he proposed to Vienna Girardi on Monday's finale.
"People don't understand why Vienna and are together, and that's OK," he said on the After the Final Rose special. "I do - and that's the important thing."
Girardi, 23, said when Pavelka, 32, popped the question, "It was just magical."

She called the moment her ultimate "fantasy, everything I wanted in life." As she was walking up to Pavelka moments before he proposed, she said she thought, "I couldn't imagine my life without him."
Pavelka said that moment was "amazing ... It was great to finally say, 'I love you,' and get it out there."

So what's next for the two?
"We've talked about getting married, but we haven't set a date just yet," said Pavelka, who will return for a romantic trip to the island of St. Lucia with Girardi, courtesy of ABC.
Girardi said she plans to move to Dallas - where Pavelka, a pilot, resides - immediately.
Pavelka said it'll be "a good change."

Girardi, who has had to keep their romance quiet for months leading up to the finale, said she is excited to have "some normalcy in our life."
She said "it's been really, really hard" keeping their relationship secret.
"We're finally able to go out in the real world," she said. "It's going to be nice!"

276I honestly think they are a very good couple. Him and Tenley seemed like there was a very, very thin wall between them. But with Vienna (though I hate to say it) he wasn't worried about anything and even with the cameras around stalking them, they were a very good couple. But I am still on team Tenley : )
why! these people has nothing to do but hate on others i am sure none of us know these people but the little they show on tv and yet so quick to judge. i am sure most of us like who we like sometimes our parents, friends and people dont like our significant other and we are in love it doesnt matter to us, so why does these people life bother you guys so much. i dont get it.
The above article said they had to keep their relationship secret. Contracts and all say so. Well Vienna didnt keep Jakes choice secret at all. I live in Tampa Florida and one of our local radio stations Mix 100.7 has a former intern who called the show days before the final rose. This gay guy, former intern, has a best friend (a girl) who is Viennas sisters roommate!!! He said his friend was told by Viennas sister each girl that was going home and in what order and was right each time. He then told the DJ he used to work with (this was all on the air, I heard it) that Vienna was chosen by Jake. So little miss Vienna didnt obey her contract about keeping her mouth shut.
My mom and dad are both pilots, so a lot of their friends are pilots. Jake seems like the typical pilot...shows one side to the public and is really very superficial on the inside. (Luckily, my parents aren't like that. But they are older and more mature.) I can't believe Jake picked Big Bird, but when thinking about it, they deserve each other. Obviously, it won't last. I just feel sorry for his family. His dad seemed really nice and his son is such an embarrassment. Jake: Lose the goofy, dork act for DWTS. And try not to drool too much on Chelsie Hightower.
@KKelly...Rosalyn's lucky she went home. And Tenley's lucky she dodged that bullet, too. Jake's fake, "Awww, shucks, gosh, golly , geewillakers" act is transparent. I am a pilot and he is an embarrassment to the aviation profession. Vienna and Jake deserve each other...And they'll stay together as long as they're both in heat. Then, like the dogs they are, they'll look for the next thing to come along. Disgusting.
On the Batchelorette Jake whined the whole time about how "nice guys finish last" and "everyone thinks I'm too perfect". Then he goes and picks the party chick over the nice girl...go figure. Vienna's lucky they sent Rosalyn home. I'm sure if she contined to have "chemistry" with Jake Vienna wouldn't have stood a chance.
This is all a bunch of made-up bs to get ratings. We all know that guys like Jake don't date, let alone marry, girls like Vienna. It was staged from the get go. Producers are always on the look-out for people with stars in their eyes who will do anything for fame (reality shows). Jake and Vienna are just two pawns in this scheme and when the producers are finished with them, they will toss them aside and leave them to rot in their own embarrassment. Vienna is young, much too young for Jake, and she seems willing to do anything to be famous and producers know this. Although scripts are not always written for the show, writers still have a story line for "actors" or "wanna be's" to follow. I don't think that all "contestants", or even the "winner" is aware of everything that is going on behind the scenes. But I do believe that the "Bachelor/Bachlorette" is informed on a great many "secrets". I am sure that Jake was instructed to propose to Vienna since she was the ugliest and most hated bachelorette. She may or may not have known that she was the "ugly duckling" chosen for the show. I'm sure that Jake was aware of the embarrassment and negative comments he and Vienna would receive but he did it anyway because the producers assured him of a way out of the engagement. Enter- An exgirlfriend who claims that Jake cheated on Vienna. Vienna finds out, gets ticked off and Jake is off the hook. My, my what a great way out of the engagement. Everyone applauds and Jake is standing looking like a stupid loser (although he doesnt know it yet) and so is Vienna. I actually feel sorry for Vienna as she got picked to be the Ugly Woman (versus Pretty Woman), which obviously was the whole theme/storyline. But hey, be careful what you ask for Vienna. You might just get it!!!

Vienna's the girl you cheat on, Tenley is the girl you marry and stay faithful to (ummm, besides her ex, that is...).
I was very disapointed. Jake made a horrible decision. Vienna is nothing but a screw up and she is uglier than ever. Tenley deserved much better apparently and she will definatley get it. Jake will one day regret his decision and it will then be to late and I hope he feels the pain that he left Tenley in !
I am sooooo glad he picked Vienna. I liked her from their first 1 on 1 date. Ali drives me crazy. Drama queen. I will not be watching the next season for sure. People need quit about Vienna. You don't want people talking about your choices or who you like so get over it. Congrats to Jake and Vienna.

Congratulations Vienna and Jake. I am very happy for you. You two are soulmates and I get the connection. Both of you are people that are often misunderstood and singled out and for that reason, you feel protective of the other. Jake will always provide security and support for Vienna and Vienna will always provide support and nuture to Jake. Its clear to me that you complete each other, i dont know why others don't see it. I am completely disappointed in Jake. Tenley is a way better choice for him. If I were to choose, I'd quit the show, fly to San Francisco and find Ali!
What airline does Jake fly for, I thought pilots were somewhat intelligent, I don't want to fly with him!! And when DWTS said they had a mystery dancer I was excited and the ruined it!!!
I like Vienna. Y'all are just silly enough to believe the ABC hype they used to make you love Ali and therefore agree with her when she said Vienna was bad. Grow up people and form your own opinions. Jake likes Vienna, period. Realize that there was more that happened that didnt make it into the episodes.Get used to it.

I thought he would pick Vienna from early in the show. He was obviously going with his instincts and something other than his brain. Serves him right that he picked her, Tinley deserves someone MUCH better than this guy. He strikes me as having an edge or another kind of personality, or maybe he's gay!
Well it is all obvious.. she strategized and won.. clever girl.. don't fault her for that.. Ali's bachelorette performance was all rigged that is why you don't hear about anyone talking about it accept for jake commentating.. it was all done afterwards to slip into the show as they already picked Ali when she said goodbye.. to boost the ratings and introduce the new person.. Go figure..
Clearly, Jake has a thing for no-class trash. If so, he definitely found it.
