“The first series, I did do a couple of things to try to get inside [his mind]. On the tube, which is our underground system,” the British actor said, before stopping himself and asking, “Can we get arrested for this? Hold on…this is a really bad reveal: I, like, followed a woman off the train one day to see what it felt like to pursue someone like that.”

“It felt kind of exciting, in a really sort of dirty way,” Dornan, who became a household name after starring as Fifty Shades’ dominator Christian Grey, admitted. “I’m sort of not proud of myself. But I do honestly think I learned something from it, because I’ve obviously never done any of that. It was intriguing and interesting to enter that process of ‘What are you following her for?’ and ‘What are you trying to find out?’”

The hunk’s confession comes following news that the drama, which is also on Netflix, has been picked up for a third season. In the season 2 finale, fans were left wondering if Dornan would return to the show, after his character got shot in the 90-minute finale.

Despite finding stalking someone “exciting,” the actor has been vocal about not wanting to be tied to playing a serial killer for life. "You don't want to be in that headspace all the time. Certain actors would but I remember thinking I was in over my head when they cast me," Dornan told The Mirror back in June 2013. "I don't want to play a serial killer for the rest of my life but this will change perceptions of who I am."
