Jenelle Evans Appears on ‘The Doctors’ to Seek Help for Mystery Illness

Jenelle Evans has had her fair share of health scares in the past, but the mystery illness that she’s been combatting for the last six weeks finally got a diagnosis when the reality star sat down with The Doctors on Friday, March 4.

The mom of two explained that she had been suffering a whole litany of problems and had been hopping from specialist to specialist to no avail.

“Six weeks ago, everything was going great with my career, and then I just had to put everything on hold,” she said. “I started having night sweats, severe anxiety, hot flashes, pelvic pain, joint pain, chest tightness, extreme back aches, and I have really shaky hands. I wake up in the middle of the night and my legs will be throbbing, like someone is hammering my kneecaps. I have abdominal pain, I can’t eat anything, my appetite is gone, and I couldn’t figure it out.”

According to the experts on the CBS medical show, the 24-year-old Teen Mom 2 star recently made two major changes to her body’s chemistry that could have prompted her symptoms: she had switched her birth control pills and stopped smoking weed.

“Let me ask you this,” Dr. Joseph Pinzone said on the show. “Was there a date where you can pinpoint, ‘This is the day it started,’ or did it come on gradually?”

“It kind of came on gradually,” Evans replied, “but I noticed I smoked marijuana a long time — probably years and years and years — and then recently I stopped in about December. And then I noticed my symptoms coming on in the end of January.”

Evans, who is mom to sons Jace, 6, and Kaiser, 20 months, explained that she’s given up cannabis in hopes of getting custody of her older son back by proving that she’s cleaned up her act.

As for the change in Evans’ contraception, The Doctors asked her pointedly whether she had plans on having more children in the future.

“Um, I definitely, well, maybe later on like a year or two from now,” she said. “I want to buy a house, you know, and get settled down and stuff like that. Because right now I’m in a neighborhood that’s just kind of — we’re all stuck together and in each other’s business. So, you know, when I settle down and stuff, yeah, you know, maybe then. But, not any time soon.”
