Hager, 33, appeared on the Wednesday, Dec. 3 episode of Watch What Happens Live, when one caller asked for her thoughts on Sasha and Malia Obama after they were called out for their demeanor at the National Thanksgiving Turkey pardoning last week.

“I’m fiercely protective of them, obviously,” Hager told Andy Cohen. “I don’t think that it’s easy. It’s not a job that they wanted.”

With a huge grin, Hager cited her own rocky experiences in the spotlight as the daughter of George W. Bush. (The Today show correspondent and her twin sister Barbara were cited for underage drinking in June 2001 when they were freshmen in college.) “Obviously I had a hard time [when my dad was in the White House],” she confessed on WWHL, “but it’s also a privilege.”

Another caller, meanwhile, cheekily asked whether Hager ever pulled an Olivia Pope and “fooled around” inside the most famous residence in America: 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

“A lady never talks,” she said with a mischievous smile.

Hager and her sister did not live full-time at the White House, but they visited often in between semesters and for holiday breaks. She met Henry Hager on the trail of her father’s second presidential campaign. They got engaged in August 2007 and married in May 2008.

Pressing for more intel, Cohen then asked if anything had happened in the Lincoln Bedroom. “No!” Hager exclaimed. “Maybe I missed that opportunity.”

She eventually admitted to “a little hanky-panky,” saying: “There was maybe a kiss on the roof.”
