Jennifer Garner is ready for her husband to slip into that iconic Batman suit! Two weeks after Ben Affleck was announced as the next Batman for the upcoming Man of Steel sequel, 41-year-old Garner revealed why she thinks her husband of eight years is the perfect fit for the DC Comic superhero.
"You know, I was excited for him," the Dallas Buyers Club actress told MTV News during the Toronto International Film Festival on Sept. 8. "I was excited because he had a real take on what he wanted to do."
She added: "I have to say, my husband is a pretty great storyteller himself, and I'm excited to watch him do it."
The Oscar-winning dad of three — Violet, 7, Seraphina, 4, and Samuel, 18 months — will be the Batman to Henry Cavill's Superman in the sequel, set to start filming in early 2014. A source has previously told Us Weekly that to bulk up for the role, Affleck, 41, has been training two hours a day.
"We knew we needed an extraordinary actor to take on one of DC Comics' most enduringly popular superheroes, and Ben Affleck certainly fits that bill, and then some," Greg Silverman, Warner Bros.' president of creative development and worldwide production said at the time of the casting. "His outstanding career is a testament to his talent."
