She's telling you! Jennifer Hudson made her voice heard with the release of her new music video to the single "I Still Love You."
The Oscar winner, 33, debuted the visuals on Thursday, June 4, and they were accompanied by one important political message. Hudson is currently working with Turn It Up For Change, a marriage equality campaign sponsored by W Hotels, and echoed the support for gay marriage in the narrative for "I Still Love You."
The video shows two men preparing for their wedding to one another, as one struggles with his relationship with his father. He picks up the phone to call his dad and records a message saying, "Hey dad, are you there? I know it's been a long time. I wanted to call and see if you got my invite. It would mean everything if you could be there, and despite everything, I still love you."
Hudson's award-winning vocals then break into the clip as she sings, "'Cause I still love you / Please come back to me / I still love you / He's everything I need / I still love you / You make my life complete / I still love you."
The man's father is shown listening to the message and deciding to get into his truck and drive to the wedding. He arrives amidst the celebrations, having an emotional moment with his son as they shake hands and hug.
"I just think the concept was just powerful to go with such a positive song," Hudson told MTV. "It's about love and everyone should have love and have the right to love who they want to love. So I thought it would be powerful to take a concept like trying to find your equality in love no matter who you love."
