Close call! Jennifer Lawrence narrowly avoided a catastrophic wardrobe malfunction at the Berlin premiere of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 on Wednesday, Nov. 4.
While posing for photos, Lawrence, 25, tried to pin a white rose on Donald Sutherland, aka President Snow, when it dropped. As the Oscar winner bent over to pick up the fallen flower, she realized that the plunging neckline on her Dior Haute Couture gown might expose more than she bargained for. With quick thinking, Lawrence clutched the bodice to her body, saving herself from embarrassment. She grabbed the flower, stood up, and finally, successfully pinned the flower to Sutherland’s lapel and shrugged off the entire ordeal as only J. Law could.
A situation like this one is nothing new for the Silver Linings Playbook actress, who has proven that she can be accident-prone in formal situations. She famously fell up the stairs while on her way to accept the award for Best Actress at the 2013 Oscars, and then fell again while walking the red carpet the very next year.
Clearly the latest close call didn’t worry Lawrence for long, as she was pictured with her other costars, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, and Elizabeth Banks afterward with a radiant smile. “Love these guys!!” Hemsworth wrote on Instagram. “Thank you so much to all the amazing fans, Love u guys!… #besties.”
