Just wow! Jennifer Lawrence had already had a pretty awesome day at Comic-Con on Thursday July 9, meeting Bill Murray and teasing the final installment of The Hunger Games — but all of that paled in comparison when she displayed her vocal prowess during an appearance on Conan!
Conan O’Brien has taken his show to San Diego for the week to catch up with all the talent in town for the annual comic book convention, and on Thursday night, that meant Lawrence and her Hunger Games costars Liam Hemsworth and Josh Hutcherson.
But while Lawrence’s kooky character and hilarious antics always make for good viewing, nobody could have known that something quite this amazing was about to happen on the Conan stage.
“You sang a ballad for Mockingjay,” Conan said to his guest, noting that it had gone to No. 1 in the charts.
“Okay, first of all if I’d have gone, ‘Pfffft Hunger Games’ it would have reached number one,” the self-effacing actress replied. “I could’ve gone [armpit fart], seriously,” she said. “It wasn’t [down to] me,” she added.
But although the 24-year-old insisted singing in front of people was her biggest fear, Hemsworth wasn’t having any of it. “She likes to sing on occasion,” he told Conan, before informing the crowd that Cher’s “Believe” was one of her favorites.
