No falling this time! Jennifer Lawrence was noticeably absent from the 87th Annual Academy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 22. The X-Men: Apocalypse actress — who famously fell and charmed everybody during both the 2013 and 2014 Oscars — instead was spotted out walking her dog while stars like Julianne Moore and Eddie Redmayne took home gold.
The Oscar winner, 24, braved the chilly weather with her small pup in Boston Common in Boston. Wearing a black headband, she went makeup-free and wore a puffy black jacket, with her blonde locks in a low bun. She’s currently in town shooting David O. Russell‘s Joy.
Lawrence has had her fair share of GIF-worthy moments at the star-studded show over the years. Back in 2013, she tripped over her pink Dior gown before accepting the award for Best Leading Actress for her work in Silver Linings Playbook. After hiding her face with her hand, she brushed it off and addressed the crowd.
“You guys are just standing up because you feel bad that I fell,” she said. “It’s really embarrassing. This is nuts!”
Afterward, she got hit on by Jack Nicholson(!) while speaking to Good Morning America’s George Stephanopoulos. “You did such a beautiful job,” Nicholson said. “Enjoy tonight — you look like an old girlfriend.”
“Do I look like a new girlfriend?” the actress quipped. He replied: “I thought about it!”
Last year, Lawrence fell once again when she face-planted into her best friend Laura Simpson on the red carpet. Clad in a red Dior dress, she later said that she tripped over a cone.
