Best ever? Jennifer Lopez‘s hot new video doesn’t just have scantily-clothed men in front of a Miami backdrop. For her latest song “I Luh Ya Papi,” the American Idol judge featured throwbacks to some of her most famous looks of all-time.
Some of the edgy looks she brought back for fans included the eye-opening green Versace dress she wore to the 2000 Grammys (now as a cleavage-baring jumpsuit), and an outfit that could be compared to her 2003 “Love Don’t Cost a Thing” jean ensemble. The 44-year-old star also gave a special nod to her messy bun look from her 2009 smash hit “I’m Real.”
“#TBT #ILuhYaPapi #SameGirl,” Lopez tweeted on Thursday, March 13. In a slew of tweets, the mom of two shared throwback pictures of herself from her “I’m Real” music video with collaborator Ja Rule, and walking the red carpet at the Grammys. She also points out how her “I Luh Ya Papi” white one-piece is in reference to her 1999 debut album cover On the 6.
Lopez shared a clip of the new video during American Idol‘s Thursday night episode, and is already receiving positive feedback from famous pals. “Ok, who saw my girl @JLo doing the nae-nae in her new video #ILuhYaPapi congrats ma!” actress Leah Remini tweeted. “Killing it!!!”
Lopez also told Us that creating the throwback video wasn’t even intentional at first. “We didn’t really even plan that. It wasn’t like, ‘Go get the outfit made!'” she explained. “The stylist just brought it on the rack and I saw it and I was like, ‘What’s the jungle print doing there?’ You know, that’s called the Versace jungle print – and I was like, ‘What is that?’ And she was like, ‘No, that’s in the stores right now.'”
“So crazy!” Lopez continued. “So it just kind of worked out.”
