From The View… to radio.
Jenny McCarthy has been teasing a "big" announcement since news broke she would no longer be returning to The View, and on Monday came the great reveal of what she will do next: host a weekly, one-hour show on Sirius XM… with a limited run. Dirty, Sexy, Funny with Jenny McCarthy debuts on Wednesday.
"It's no secret that I love to talk," McCarthy said of her new gig. "I'm excited to do it on SiriusXM without having to interrupt anyone or keep things clean. You can bet your sweet ass this show will live up to its title… I am not holding back anything."
McCarthy, 41, will discuss topics such as "parenting, sex, dating, and marriage." Guests scheduled to appear include Chelsea Handler, Perez Hilton, and her fiancé, Donnie Wahlberg.
"Jenny's no holds barred style and playful personality is sure to entertain listeners. We are excited to welcome her and offer her a platform to have uncensored, unscripted conversations about the topics she's passionate about," Scott Greenstein, President and Chief Content Officer, SiriusXM, said in a statement.
The news seems so tame in comparison to all of the shakeups going on at McCarthy's former home over at ABC.
Last week, it was announced officially that Rosie O'Donnell will return as co-host for Season 18 after dramatically exiting the series nearly seven years ago. Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Joy Behar, and Whoopi Goldberg — who will be back as moderator in the fall — have all commented, and McCarthy has some thoughts of her own.
"I love Rosie. I have been a fan of hers forever," she told Us Weekly over the weekend. "I knew they were looking to bring some heat to the table and there is no doubt that will Rosie there will be some heat. They are definitely going in the direction of fire."
"It's going to be some exciting television," McCarthy continued. "I will be there with my beer and popcorn at 11 in the morning. I can't wait to see how it plays out."
Beer and popcorn definitely seem like Sirius XM's style.
