Jerry Hall will not be going under the knife anytime soon. The stunning actress and model, 58, made her voice heard regarding the subject of plastic surgery in a new interview with Hello! magazine on Monday, Dec. 1, expressing her distaste over the procedures.
"It's so idiotic when they risk their lives to have surgery," the former wife of Mick Jagger said of women who go under the knife. "Every time you have anesthesia, you're killing a lot of brain cells. Why would you do that? You could get infections, you could die."
Hall's words follow a controversy surrounding Renee Zellweger, who shocked fans when she stepped out this past October with what some saw as an altered face. The actress denied that she had any work done and attributed the change to her lifestyle.
"Why make yourself look a grotesque caricature of yourself?" Hall continued. "They don't fool anyone. They look like pathetic, insecure creatures. I loathe the whole thing."
The former music video star — who was common-law married to Jagger in the '90s and is the mother to his children Elizabeth, James, Georgia May, and Gabriel — went on to add that she understands why some of her Hollywood contemporaries chose to fight aging with plastic surgery, but said she finds the choice sad and cannot understand why women out of the public eye risk their lives for their looks.
"I don't mean to be critical, and I understand that actresses feel the pressure in Hollywood, they have to do it," Hall explained. "I respect that and I feel sorry for them that they have to do it."
"But for normal women to do it?" she added. "If men want to leave their wife for a 19-year-old, they're gonna do it anyway. All the facelifts and Botox in the world isn't going to change that guy, you know?"
