On Friday, the former child star made headlines after he and four women dressed as angels took to the stage to perform the new single from his decade-in-the-making album, Angelic 2 the Core.

“The whole theme of the album is good versus evil, heaven versus hell, that sort of thing,” he said to explain his own dark and mysterious ensemble, which featured dark skinny jeans, a black hoodie pulled over his head and heavy boots.

Asked why his backup singers and band were dressed as angels, Feldman explained, “I know that angels have probably saved me once or twice in my life. And I like helping them as well. That’s why I created Corey’s Angels,” he said, referring to his heavenly entourage. “It was a way to help girls who were kind of lost and needed to find their way to get their opportunities, their dreams and make them realities. And that’s what we do.”
