“Gorgeous.” “Beautiful.” “Jessica Lange?” These are just a few of the thousands of comments followers wrote alongside Caitlyn Jenner’s stunning Vanity Fair debut on Instagram on Monday, June 1. And Lange, for her part, embraced the comparison.
“What does that mean?” the former American Horror Story star asked the Daily Beast when they revealed to her that she was trending on Twitter. “You have to explain what that means to me.”
After clarifying that she was trending because people think Jenner looks like her, Lange, 66, gladly accepted the comparison.
“Oh really? That’s so wonderful. Well, now I’m going to have to look for that picture,” she said, laughing about not understanding how the world-wide web works.
“Trending on Twitter because Caitlyn Jenner is on the cover — you see I don’t do any of this stuff, the Internet,” she explained. “So I have no clue when people use this terminology. I have to repeat it to understand.”
Jenner, meanwhile, has yet to comment on the comparisons but couldn’t be more excited to finally reveal herself.
“Everybody has challenges in dealing with life,” the transgender star (formerly Bruce) captioned her first Instagram post. “I’m so happy after such a long struggle and finally living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. It feels so good. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me.”
