When Jessica Simpson's fiance Eric Johnson moved in with her, he didn't come alone: the former NFL player brought along his Airedale terrier, Bentley.
Sources tell Us Weekly that the pooch belonged to Johnson, 31, and his ex-wife, Keri; when the couple split in October 2009 after five years of marriage, Johnson got the dog.
Simpson, 30, lost her five-year-old Maltipoo, Daisy, to a coyote in September 2009. "My heart is broken because a coyote took my precious Daisy right in front of our eyes," she tweeted. "Horror!"
Daisy had been a gift for Simpson from her ex-hubby Nick Lachey. Lachey, 37, presented his then-wife with the pup onstage during one of Simpson's live performances.
Last December, Simpson gushed about her wonderful holiday with Johnson and his pooch. "Eric is the perfect addition to our family," she tweeted. "We all stayed at my parents on X-mas eve. We are lucky to have three new studs in the fam: Pete Wentz, Bronx, and Eric Johnson!"
Moments later, she tweeted a picture of Bentley snoozing on an ottoman and said: "I can't forget Bentley!"
