Pop perfection. Jessie J absolutely killed her take on the The Little Mermaid’s “Part of Your World” for the upcoming We Love Disney compilation album, and the clip went viral on Monday, Oct. 19.
The British star, 27, remade the classic song from the beloved 1989 Disney film, originally sung by Jodi Benson in her role as Ariel.
“I selected ‘Part of Your World’ from The Little Mermaid because when I was little, I literally loved this song, and I always wanted to be able to sing it, combing my hair with a fork,” she said in a behind-the-scenes clip from the making of the album.
The “Bang Bang” belter gives the original a run for its money, flawlessly singing it with her powerful pipes and imbuing it with a strong sense of female empowerment.
We Love Disney is set for release on Oct. 30 and also includes remakes by Ne-Yo, Fall Out Boy, Kacey Musgraves, and Lucy Hale.
