Pop quiz, America! With the GOP debate airing on Wednesday, Sept. 16, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel decided to put Americans’ knowledge of this year’s election to the test.
“It’s so jam-packed with hopefuls right now, it’s hard to distinguish who’s who, which made me wonder how much voters actually know about anyone other than Donald Trump,” Kimmel noted on his show on Wednesday.
To find out, his staffers took to the streets of Los Angeles with three photos of people who looked like potential presidential candidates. But in reality only one of them was running for president.
As seen in the clip reel, several of Kimmel’s interview subjects were clueless about the current crop of White House hopefuls. In fact, of the people they showed, the girl who came the closest picked Tony Goldwyn, the actor who plays President Fitzgerald Grant on Scandal.
“Actually he’s already the president,” Kimmel’s staffer jokes in the video. “Thursday nights, check your local listings!”
