During the late-night talk show host’s latest addition of “Lie Witness News” — a segment on Jimmy Kimmel Live! during which his team conducts man-on-the-street interviews about cultural events — staffers asked unsuspecting people on Hollywood Boulevard about their reactions to the heated debate.

In true Kimmel fashion, however, he conducted the interviews ahead of the big event on Monday night, meaning everyone they interviewed was reacting to something that hadn’t even happened yet.

“What did you think of that moment when Donald Trump challenged Hillary to do pull-ups on that pull-up bar he brought out?” Kimmel’s correspondent asked one woman.

“I thought it was funny because, like, come on, Hillary — I can barely do a pull-up!” she answered.

The correspondent then asked another man if he was surprised that Trump yelled at Clinton, “Liar! Liar! Pantsuit on fire!”

“Wasn’t that expected though?” the man said of the made-up moment, going as far as to lie that he “saw it on social media.”

The worst of it came when the correspondent asked the first woman interviewed about Trump kissing Clinton.

“Wasn’t it cute, though, when right after the closing statement, they gave each other that cute little kiss? That peck on the lips?” she asked the woman.

“It showed that there’s, like, peace between the two parties,” the woman responded. “But it kind of was fake.”
