Side hug! Jinger Duggar is engaged to her soccer player boyfriend, Jeremy Vuolo, a TLC rep confirmed to Us Weekly on Tuesday, July 26.

In June, the former 19 Kids and Counting star announced that she had started a courtship with Vuolo. The couple first met in May 2015 during a mission trip.

“It was there that I really saw his heart and really admired his character. After that, he contacted my dad [Jim Bob Duggar] and asked if we could get to know each other," Duggar, 22, said in a video, which was published on her family's website.

Last month, Vuolo, 28, vowed to take things slow, but things seem to be moving pretty quickly. He said in the clip, "As opposed to a more casual dating relationship, we really want to honor the Lord and be very intentional about how we move forward."

Here, Us Weekly rounds up five things you may not know about Duggar's fiancé:

1. He's a Northeastern hunk.

According to TLC, Vuolo was raised in Downington, Pennsylvania. He attended Hartwick College in Oneonta, New York, before transferring and graduating from Syracuse University.

2. He's a pro soccer player.
Time to kick butt! Vuolo played for the Major League Soccer club New York Red Bulls in 2012. The following year, he signed with the San Antonio Scorpions in the North American Soccer League. His position of choice? Goalie! (According to his Facebook page, he has even met David Beckham.)

3. Faith is a big part of his life.
Vuolo took some time off from soccer to focus on his religion and go on a missionary trip in the Philippines. He opened up about his beliefs in a video posted by A Cru Ministry in February 2013.

"As an athlete, everyone knows you're going to suffer disappointment or experience joy and successful moments. But there is going to be both. Everybody knows that as an athlete, especially in life as well. It's how you deal with it that's important," he said. "I've slowly been learning how to deal with that. I think it really comes down to having your base identity being in something other than your skill, yourself, the circumstances around you. My identity needs to be in something that never changes — and that's Jesus Christ. It begins and ends with having that foundation in Christ."

4. Jinger's family supports the relationship.
Rest easy, bud! Jinger's older sister Jessa Seewald gave a shout-out to the couple following the news of their romance. "Ben [Seewald] and I are so excited for this new courting couple!" she captioned an Instagram pic on Monday. Vuolo has previously been featured in YouTube videos posted by Jessa, 23.

5. He's not afraid of the limelight.
TLC confirms that Vuolo and Duggar's relationship will play out on TV. The couple will be documenting their courtship on the 19 Kids and Counting spinoff, Jill & Jessa: Counting On. The series was recently renewed for season 2.
