No monster-in-law here! Sofia Vergara doesn’t have to worry about clashing with fiance Joe Manganiello‘s family — his mom, Susan, loves the Modern Family star.
Susan was interviewed recently for a profile of the Magic Mike actor from the local CBS affiliate in his hometown of Pittsburgh, Pa. And she couldn’t help but gush a little when asked about her son’s bride-to-be.
“Sofia Vergara is one of the nicest people I’ve ever met,” she raved of the actress, 42, who got engaged to Manganiello, 38, in Hawaii over Christmas. “She has no affectations whatsoever. She’s just very nice to everybody.”
Indeed, as reported in the Jan. 19 issue of Us Weekly, the True Blood star’s mom encouraged him to pop the question. “Susan loves that Sofia is a woman with a voice,” an insider told Us.
The two have been dating for just over six months, but they’re clearly smitten with each other. Vergara frequently posts photos of them together on Instagram and WhoSay, and has referred to the actor as her “love and best friend.”
“She knows they haven’t been together long,” a second source told Us of the Colombian stunner, who was previously engaged to Nick Loeb and has a son, 22-year-old Manolo, from her marriage to Joe Gonzalez in the 1990s. “But she’s convinced she’s found her soul mate.”
This will be Vergara’s second marriage and Manganiello’s first. He was previously engaged to actress Audra Marie, but they split in 2011.
