Save the last dance. Rory Feek shared a touching throwback video of himself and wife Joey dancing together spiritedly via Facebook on Saturday, December 19.

The duo, who comprise bluegrass band Joey + Rory, are happily dancing away in a festively lit barn in the short 10-second clip.

“We had a 1940’s themed New Years Eve last year in our barn,” Rory captioned the video. “I dusted off my old uniform and my bride and I cut a rug to some big band music. Hoping for a long sweet slow dance this year.”

In the sweet clip, the pair look excited to be together as Rory, 49, twirls Joey, 40, around the dance floor.

As previously reported, Joey was diagnosed with stage IV cervical cancer in 2014, and opted to halt all treatment last month after chemotherapy was deemed ineffective. Rory has been documenting their lives together on his personal blog, This Life I Live, and Facebook ever since.

On Friday, the couple welcomed a surprise guest to their home — Santa Claus! Their 22-month-old daughter, Indiana, got a chance to chat with Old Saint Nick, and later played in a giant box that he’d brought to their home.

“He said he knew our music (I had no idea Santa was a country music fan) and was a little nervous about coming to see us this evening — not knowing what to expect — or if Joey would be up for their visit,” Rory recounted on his blog. “But I think once he saw my bride sitting on the couch and smiling when he came in, and enjoying the evening… he settled in and hopefully had as good a time as we did.”

Earlier this month, Rory shared a touching post about having one last dance with Joey.

"A few days ago, on the last day Joey walked, I took her in my arms in the living room and once more put her hand in mine and we danced," he wrote on December 2. "She steadied with her cane and I softly moved her across the room singing George Strait’s 'You Look So Good In Love' in her ear. In the middle of the song though, as I was being careful not to step on her toes – she stopped and looked up at me and said, 'How about if I lead?' And I followed her lead as we slowly two-stepped on her mama’s living room floor."

“Like dancing, she wants to do this right, or not do it at all…” Rory continued. “To share the good, the bad, and the beautiful. And so we will.”
