John Edwards Promised to Wed Mistress; Dave Matthews to Play Ceremony

John Edwards promised mistress Rielle Hunter that he'd marry her once his wife Elizabeth died of cancer, Edwards' former aide alleges in a shocking new book proposal.
According to a copy obtained by the New York Times, Andrew Young claims Edwards told Hunter that the ceremony would take place on a New York rooftop and feature an appearance by the Dave Matthews Band.
As has been previously reported, Young also claims in his proposal that Edwards fathered Hunter's daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, who is 19-months old.

Young has claimed he was the father of the girl. But in the book proposal he explains how Edwards always knew he was Frances' dad and begged Young to cover for him by falsely claiming he was the father.
Last May, Edwards' wife Elizabeth (who is battling terminal breast cancer) told Oprah Winfrey she has "no idea" if her husband is the baby's father. (No father is listed on the baby's birth certificate.)

Asked about the speculation, Elizabeth told Winfrey, "I've seen a picture of the baby. I have no idea. It doesn't look like my children, but I don't have any idea."
A spokeswoman for Edwards has yet to comment.

The baby looks as much like Andrew Young as it does Edwards. It may be Edwards' but Young is the additional scumbag here. I don't believe a word he says. A rooftop wedding with Dave Matthews? Sounds more like Hunter's drug-addled dream or Young's trying to sell a book. I hope George Holding (the US Attorney) charges him with perjury. A little bird who knows things about the criminal investigtion told me Young lied big time to the grand jury in Durham or wherever they are and that he had been stealing money from Edwards' supporters before there was ever a baby. Pray for all these children.
I feel for the 2 younger children that will have to live with this mess for many years to come. I hope the older sister will be able to handle the fall out of their father's actions. They will be scared forever, and women flaunt in front of powerful men and get knocked up for there 15 mins. They both are adults and should have known to use protection, but I can hear her now. "I'm on birth control". I wish Elizabeth quiet time and enjoy what she can.

I WAS a supporter of John Edwards before all of this broke about his affair with Rielle Hunter. It is very unfortunate the disgrace he has put his family through. Elizabeth deserves many stars for putting up with this miserable man. She should leave him and spend her remaining time enjoying her family and doing all the things she wants to do. I have been on the receiving end of such disgrace myself although not pubically. I am proof that LIFE IS GREENER ON THE OTHER SIDE.
Elizabeth is a class act. She knows her children will have to have their father when she is gone. Some people rise above their circumstances and do what needs to be done. God only knows what her heart has endured to make her decisions. Bless all women who have lived it.

As hard as it has been for Elizabeth to know the truth about her lying scumbag of a husband, at least he didn't get away with what he was planning. As a politician, he was probably looking forward to the day when he could get "sympathy votes" and act like a heart-broken widower, all the while hiding his mistress and planning to marry her. Instead, his actions are known to all. I'm truly sorry Elizabeth has been hurt, but at least he didn't get away with his plan. He is ruined. So is Rielle. She has to be one of the most despised women on the planet, other than Camilla Parker Bowles. Now that I think of it - they are a lot alike, even in looks.
It is time for Edward's wife to dump him right now. Let him run to Hunter and play house.

Finding out about John's love child was hurtful enough for Elizabeth, but now to hear that he promised to marry his mistress after she (Elizabeth) dies is the height of cruelty on John's part. The man's career is in ruins. His relationships are all damaged. He has NO credibility or respect. Payback has only just begun, John Edwards. You deserve EVERY bad thing that happens to you.
