Johnny Depp Visits Dracula Castle, Meets Fans Ahead of Concert in Romania

While news of his impending divorce continue to make headlines in the States, Johnny Depp and his Hollywood Vampires bandmates are traveling the world. This week: Romania.

On Saturday, June 4, the band, which also includes Alice Cooper and Joe Perry, visited Bran Castle, otherwise known as “Dracula Castle,” in Bran, Romania.

The threesome posed for photos in front of the historic structure and were even joined on the tour by Depp’s longtime pal Tim Burton. (Burton, 57, and Depp, 52, have collaborated on such films as Edward Scissorhands, Sweeney Todd, and most recently, Alice Through the Looking Glass.)

“Johnny was having a good time,” an onlooker told Us of his stop at Hans Krull Tavern in Auarhus, Denmark. “Anyone that approached him got a pleasant response from him, and he seemed in a really chatty mood.”

Meanwhile, back in the States, Depp’s estranged wife Amber Heard filed a defamation suit against Depp’s pal Doug Stanhope after the comedian penned a piece for The Wrap.

“Defendants [Stanhope and several unnamed persons] orchestrated a plot to write an article, which was published at TheWrap.com, which falsely accuses plaintiff Amber Heard of ‘blackmail’ and other criminal behavior towards her husband, Johnny Depp, from whom she is seeking a divorce,” the filing begins. “Defendants engaged in this scheme to try to divert public attention away from the true facts regarding Depp which caused their marriage to fail, namely, that Depp repeatedly abused Heard throughout their marriage, at times to the point of her fearing for her life.”

On Friday, May 27, Heard, 30, appeared in court with bruises on her face, alleging that Depp had physically abused her throughout the course of their relationship. She was granted a temporary restraining order against him.

Depp’s lawyer, Laura Wasser, denied the allegations, asserting in court documents that Heard is “attempting to secure a premature financial resolution by alleging abuse.”

The estranged couple is due back in court on June 17.
