Johnny Kemp has died at the age of 55, the Associated Press reports. The R&B singer's body was found floating off a beach in Montego Bay, Jamaica on Thursday, April 16.
Police say Kemp was scheduled to be on a Caribbean cruise this week associated with the Tom Joyner Morning Show, but no further details have been given. A rep for the cruise told The Root that his death did not take place onboard.
The Bahamas native is best known for his 1988 hit song "Just Got Paid," which 'N Sync later covered in 2000. The Grammy-nominated artist also was behind songs such as "Birthday Suit" and "Dancin' With Myself."
Kemp is survived by his wife Diedre and two sons.
Story still developing.
