The new issue of Us Weekly (on stands now) reports that Jon Gosselin is telling friends his estranged wife Kate — whom he calls "monster mom" — is abusing their kids.
"Jon says she spanks the kids all the time," a source tells Us Weekly. "All she has to do is look at them and they get scared."

Kate, 34, "kicked a lego building into a million pieces because the boys didn't put it away the first time she asked them to," the insider says.

A Kate confidant tells Us that Kate "barely talks" to her children.
"The nannies are doing 95 percent of the work," the pal says. "Kate has a short attention span, and everything upsets her."
Jon, 32, isn't that much better, according to another source who overheard him ask a paparazzo what time the children get home from school.
"He gets annoyed when they interrupt him when he's on the phone," the source says.
