Batter up! Jon Hamm looked happy while playing a game of baseball with friends in L.A.’s North Hollywood neighborhood on Saturday, Sept. 12, just one week after announcing his separation from longtime girlfriend Jennifer Westfeldt.
The Mad Men star, 44, dressed down for the game in a pair of casual shorts and a short-sleeved button-down.
In the last of summer 2015’s explosion of celeb splits, Hamm and Westfeldt, 45, announced they were splitting after 18 years of dating in a joint statement to Us on Monday Sept. 7. “With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history. We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward,” their Labor Day statement read.
“They’ve been fighting for a while, but now they’re done,” a source close to Westfeldt explained to Us. “They decided to finally split. It’s sad.” Another source tells Us that there had “always been a rift” because “he wanted kids and she didn’t.”
Their breakup comes after Us confirmed in March that Hamm had spent 30 days in a rehab program for alcohol abuse. During his treatment, Westfeldt was by his side, despite reports that they had split earlier this year.
“With the support of his longtime partner Jennifer Westfeldt, Jon Hamm recently completed treatment for his struggle with alcohol addiction,” his rep told Us at the time. “They have asked for privacy and sensitivity going forward.”
