Jonathan Knight Takes Boyfriend’s Name on Twitter After SCOTUS Ruling

Jonathan Knight took his boyfriend Harley Rodriguez's name on Instagram.

Jonathan Knight has every intention of loving Harley Rodriguez (forever). The New Kids on the Block singer, 46, changed his name on his social media accounts to include Rodriguez's last name on Friday, June 26.

Knight took to Instagram after the Supreme Court's historic decision to strike down states' bans on same-sex marriage, effectively legalizing gay marriage and achieving a feat that activists have spent years fighting for. The boy bander, who came out as gay in 2011, expressed his emotions over the decision and nodded to his future with his boyfriend of more than seven years.

The star changed his Instagram name to Jonathan Knight-Rodriguez and captioned a concert photo of himself with bandmate Donnie Wahlberg, "Overwhelmed with joy this morning. So many emotions! I am blessed to be surrounded by 5 of the most amazing loving men in the world @harley.rodriguez @jordanknightofficial @joeymcintyre @dannywoodofficial and @donniewahlberg #LoveWins."

Fitness trainer Rodriguez also chimed in on Instagram, sharing a photo of a heart made out of each state in various colors of the rainbow. "Today history has been made and I'm proud & happy for so many reasons… proud of the U.S. for choosing #equality for all & happy that now younger generations can grow up in a country that doesn't legally discriminate against love," he wrote. "Hearing the happy tears in @jonathanrknight's voice this morning made me grateful & blessed that he, I, & others in this country are fortunate to now have this freedom whereas in so many parts of the world, people are killed for expressing love. Thank you #SCOTUS & #POTUS for making it possible that #LoveWins! #equalityforall #loveislove #pride."

Knight and Rodriguez began dating in the late 2000s, and hit the airwaves together when they competed in the 26th season of The Amazing Race earlier this year. The singer's fellow New Kids on the Block, Jordan Knight and Donnie Wahlberg, also celebrated the happy news on Friday.

"So happy to see the collective evolution of our hearts and minds! So happy for those who finally get their justice today! #LoveWins," Jordan wrote, while Wahlberg chimed in, "I'm already happily married, and now I'm happy that my brother @jonathanrknight can get married in this country too!"
