Celebrating amid the chaos. Josiah Duggar received sweet messages from his family on his 19th birthday on Friday, Aug. 28, just days after his brother, Josh Duggar, checked into a treatment center.
The 19 Kids and Counting stars posted a sweet throwback photo of the birthday boy on their official Facebook account.
“Today is our Josiah’s birthday. Josiah is creative and a hard worker,” the caption read. “We are especially pleased with the wonderful young man he’s become. Happy, happy birthday, Josiah!”
A few hours later, Michelle Duggar shared her own message on the page. “Michelle here–I’ve thought all day about our Josiah and wanted to add a few thoughts to the family post we put up for his birthday this morning! HAPPY BIRTHDAY JOSIAH! We love you so much!” the mom of 19 wrote.
She gushed: “You are an encourager and can brighten up any room you walk into! You have made a big impact in all of our lives. Your love for God, humility, diligence, selflessness, giving spirit, and so much more has challenged us in our relationship with the Lord! We are so blessed to have you in our family!”
The reality TV family has had a rough couple of months. Back in June, their TLC series was canceled amid Josh’s child molestation scandal. (His sisters, Jessa and Jill Duggar, revealed they were two of his victims.) Then, earlier this month, Josh was linked to the infidelity website Ashley Madison via leaked email data. He admitted to cheating on his wife Anna and having a “secret addiction” to Internet porn, and subsequently checked into a long-term treatment center. The couple are parents to Mackynzie, 5, Michael, 4, Marcus, 2, and Meredith, 1 month.
