J.P. Rosenbaum spoke to Sean Lowe about his wife Ashley Hebert and his stance on the Bachelorette twist

Expert opinion! Bachelorette alum J.P. Rosenbaum sounded off on the show's controversial new twist — in which two Bachelorettes will compete to star in the next season — dishing to The Bachelor's Sean Lowe on his blog

"I am eternally grateful for all that has transpired in my life over the past four years," began Rosenbaum, who won Ashley Hebert's 2011 season of The Bachelorette. "I was lucky enough to marry my best friend, who has since given birth to our firstborn child, a healthy and beautiful baby boy."

Rosenbaum, 38, was awarded Hebert's final rose and proposed to the dentist in the season finale. They exchanged vows in a live television event in December 2012, and Hebert gave birth to the couple's first child, son Fordham, this past fall.

"I can honestly say that I’ve never been happier," Rosenbaum continued in his words to Lowe. "This show has been the catalyst for so many wonderful love stories, but I think viewers keep forgetting that above anything else, this is a television show and its sole purpose is to make money."

"Regardless of right or wrong, or who is more deserving, having two Bachelorettes creates a buzz, a LOT of buzz and that, in theory, translates into ratings," added the Bachelorette winner. "So forget about whether or not you agree with the decision to  stray from the norm, this change has already begun to do exactly what they had hoped it would do. In the end, it really doesn’t matter because you are ALL going to watch it anyway…as am I!!!"

ABC's decision to cast both Britt Nilsson and Kaitlyn Bristowe in the upcoming 11th season of The Bachelorette was a polarizing one. Host Chris Harrison explained in this week's After the Final Rose special following Chris Soules' Bachelor season finale that Nilsson and Bristowe will begin with a group of men, who will then decide which woman they want to pursue.

Some stars and fans took issue with the format, as Lowe's wife Catherine Giudici went so far as to call the idea "disgusting." While Rosenbaum was not one of the vocal dissenters, he did give a strong opinion on who the final pick should be.

"#TeamKaitlyn," he wrote simply, declaring his allegiance to the fan-favorite dance instructor.
