Judge Orders Jon Gosselin to Stop Making Media Appearances

Expect to see a lot less of Jon Gosselin: A Maryland judge has ordered the reality dad, 32, to quit appearing in the media for now.
Following a one-day hearing Thursday, Montgomery County Circuit Judge Michael D. Mason granted a preliminary injunction aimed at halting media appearances by Gosselin, pending a trial that is set to begin Apr. 19. TLC claims Gosselin has been violating a contract with the network and its parent company, Discovery Communications.

TLC Chief Operating Officer Edward Sabin testified that Gosselin made unauthorized appearances and endorsements. He cited a pool party that Gosselin hosted at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Sabin told the court Gosselin's behavior was "embarrassing" and clashes with the wholesome image of the show, Jon & Kate Plus 8.

"Photos of Jon Gosselin with scores of bikini-clad women was inconsistent with our image brand of our show," Sabin told the court.

Sabin offered other examples of bad behavior: Gosselin's habit of signing autographs outside the family's Pennsylvania home; his lavish, photo-op filled trip to the south of France with then-girlfriend Hailey Glassman; talk of a "Hollywood Rebel" clothing line and another potential show, Divorced Dads Club, with Michael Lohan.
After Thursday's ruling, TLC issued the following statement: "The Court has validated our view that Mr. Gosselin has a valid, binding contract and that he has breached it repeatedly. Step one – getting the court to order Mr. Gosselin to comply with his contractual obligations – has been accomplished. Any further breaches going forward will be violations of a court order. We look forward to the next phase of the litigation, which is to pursue our claim for damages resulting from Mr. Gosselin's numerous breaches."

Gosselin did not appear in court. His lawyers also did not present any evidence.
Gosselin's attorney Mark Jay Heller had said Gosselin will "vigorously defend against" TLC's "baseless action."
Gosselin -- who is in the midst of divorcing wife of 10 years, Kate, 34 -- is also countersuing TLC, claiming it violated Pennsylvania's child labor laws in filming his eight children.

Oh come on TLC..."A Wholesome Family Show?" I would not allow my children to watch this show...why? Because Kate was abusive and cruel towards her husband. And now, he is no better, they are both train wrecks.
btw Carol, Kate is not abusive, she makes her kids "mind" which we need a whole lot more of in this world. AND she had to take charge, the child she married was of no help at all where the children were concerned.
Just now seeing this, I guess Jon has burned too many bridges and too many candles at both ends. Doesn't look like the outcome is promising for him, and he deserves everything he gets. You dig a hole, you gotta live in it...
Jon needs to get a job and support these children. He has alot of growing up to do. These children did not ask to be born and they need both parents to be responsible and as abusive as kate is he needs to protect his children and be there for them.

You say Jon fought for his marriage, ya right. He was with how many young women? You call that fighting for your marriage?. Jon is a jerk. Finally this proves he did wrong. You better find a good job, lots of child support. You should have never stopped the filming of the show.

Payback time Jon you wanted kate and the kids of the show. She couldn't make money now how does it feel. You can't go out and bash kate and make your money. What goes aroung comes around. please remember that the truth about their relationship came out in the media. they have basically been separated for a little over a year now prior to their divorce. Kate called it quits, Jon fought for his marriage, she wanted nothing of it anymore so technically if he wanted to have girlfriend he was well within his limit to do so. Kate is crying wolf because she now has no husband, but if she would have been a fair wife, not even a submissive wife, and not treat the man like a child, they would have probably been in a bette place. As for Jon being told to keep out of the media, Kate should receive the same treatment. She constantly brings on this "poor me, i've been done wrong" demeanor that is all a fat lie and is very annoying. She should accept responsibility for calling it quits first. She should have gone to counceling when her husband asked her to on many occasions. She was out a long time ago so don't blast Jon. And for you stupid people who think he's a "golddigger" or "less of a man", please remember that he was the sole breadwinner in that household prior to the show. Kate quit her job as a nurse and had no cash coming in except for Jon's salary in the computer tech field he was working in, and HE made the ulitmate decision to resign his regular job so that he could stay at home with his children and give Kate the opportunity to pursue her dream with her book.
