Michael C. Hall may have met his soon-to-be ex Jennifer Carpenter on set, but that doesn't mean the Dexter actor is always hot for his costars.

After rumors circulated that Hall, 39, has been secretly dating his onscreen love interest Julia Stiles, the 29-year-old actress is setting the record straight.
"I have absolutely nothing to do with the split between Michael and Jennifer. We are good friends and enjoyed working together," Stiles tells UsMagazine.com in a statement.

"This is a personal matter between them, and we should respect their privacy. Although I too prefer to keep my private life private, I felt compelled to dispel the rumors I was somehow the cause for this matter."

Married for two years, reps for Hall and Carpenter, 31, announced the "amicable" split on Monday; the couple had "been separated from some time."

13I hope by now you haters are aware that Michael C. Hall and Jennifer Carpenter separated on August 9, 2010. Julia Stiles wasn't sighed to "Dexter" until the first week of June, and she didn't appear in season 5 until the very end of the third episode, so she probably didn't even set foot on the set until the July. There is no way that Julia Stiles had anything to do with the breakup of their marriage.

Bax Fleet, I totally agree with you.She's a has been who was fortunate enough to get a role on Dexter in which she was just as annoying as in her previous roles. It wouldn't shock me if her camp started the rumors. Seriously, this is only news because there's nothing else going on in hollywood.

I hate the word "hoot" - one of my pet peeves. However, I agree - I had never heard that Stiles might be the cause of the break up. She sort of shot herself in the foot here by releasing a statement. Maybe that was her intention - to get some publicity. I haven't heard anything about Julia Stiles in years - she's a has-been. Didn't even know that she was still "acting" at all. But I guess this makes her relevant again? Strange way to get your name back into the spotlight, but whatever.
