Julianne Hough Calls Chuck Wicks Split "a Good Thing"

Julianne Hough tells Usmagazine.com her split from Chuck Wicks is for the best.
"It's a good thing for us right now," the singer, 21, told Us Thursday at the Nashville premiere of The Blind Side. "We are both extremely busy and working on our careers and really focused on that." (Her brother Derek also told Usmagazine.com her schedule is too hectic for a relationship: "She's a busy girl, doing an amazing job. She's a great person.")
Asked if there was any heartache, she told Us, "Not at all."

And, no, it wasn't awkward seeing him at Wednesday's Country Music Association Awards.
"We are such good friends," she told Us of Wicks, 30, whom she began dating in 2008. "Of course, we weren’t together. We will always continue being good friends."

She said they may even pen tunes about their split. "Absolutely," she said. "We’ll probably write 'em together."
Hough told Us she may not be returning to ABC's Dancing With the Stars next season, as she will be shooting Footloose.
"We'll see," she told Us.

Saw this coming. Their chemistry on DWTS was terrible... especially during the sexy dances. You could tell she was looking elsewhere while he was trying to hang on. Not surprised at all.

Hate it when you read all this crap about celebrities breaking up and still "best friends", and there's NO hurt feelings. Get real! SOMEONE has hurt feelings, someone did the breaking up, someone didn't; relationships ending are NEVER a mutual thing. The hurt one does not want to admit that they WERE the hurt one, so they act like everything is A-Okay. Relationships are the pitts, no way around it. Even the good ones can be hurtful and hell at times. It IS best to make sure you're happy with your OWN life, and don't rely on someone other than yourself to make you happy. It can't come from anyone else, your happiness has to come from only yourself.
Dont like her either. Think she broke up with him cause she was getting too big for her britches. She think she will go out and find someone better and will end up all used up.

Don't want her coming back to DWTS - she got stuck-up. She was once a very sweet girl - now she's made it somewhat - got her nose up.
What? A smart, realistic, mature couple? They are a couple of great role models. Probably has to do with them not getting to Hollywood/Nashville celebrity until they were practically grown. If they are meant to be together, they will be, but at 21YO Julianne has amazing perspective and intelligence. She's wise for her years - living in Europe and studying dance there likely gave her a clearer worldview than many of her peers. Anyway, the best spouse is someone you intend to have as a lifelong friend no matter what, so good for them.

I think they'll end up back together down the road, but they each have to do their own thing so that they'll have no regrets.
They both used each other to get ahead - all used up now - time to move on; WATCH - she will find someone else to get as much out of him; and he find another gal to get as far as he can. Just like the publicity in DWTS - they were a couple then - so the viewers got to know both - now nothing is new with each - gotta do something else to get notice.
She's too young to be tied down. Live your life Jules. If you are meant to be together, you will find your way back to each other later on.
MyName: Chuck and Jullianne were NOT engaged. A 30 year old man and a 21 year old women is not some terrible age difference and I think its great they will remain friends. Hope both of them can move on if its not meant to be between them.

I never did like Chucky boy. There was just something about him that rubbed me the wrong way.
No big deal, she's only 21, hopefully she will date several more men before she's ready to get serious. She's got a great attitude about it, which is great.
She should ask Jessica Simpson how choosing career over a good man has worked out for her.... just sayin...
Julianne is only 21? She's too young to even be thinking about marriage. She needs to go live her life and experience things for herself. I think this split is probably for the better.
