Justin Bieber, all grown up. The 21-year-old pop star showed that he’s come a long way from his “Baby” days in a short video clip he posted to his Instagram on Saturday, Sept. 12, in which he can be seen shotgunning a beer.
In the video, the “What Do You Mean?” crooner — wearing a gray T-shirt and large brown hat — goes head-to-head against another man, but ultimately loses the competition.
His face takes on a pained expression at the end of the chugging contest.
“I lost but I didn’t go to college,” Bieber captioned the video. The singer was in Las Vegas just ahead of the Floyd Mayweather–Andre Berto boxing match.
Late last week, Bieber opened up to Australia’s The Kyle and Jackie O Show to discuss his current relationship status — or lack thereof.
“I haven’t been in a relationship for a while now,” he said. “I’m chilling and just hanging out. Just being by myself. I am a relationship type of guy, I love to be in love and I love cuddling and I love all of that kind of stuff but I got my heart broken and so I’m just going to let that heal up.”
Then, the singer got candid. “I had a few beers, guys, maybe I’m talking too openly?”
Bieber previously dated Selena Gomez, but the on-again, off-again couple called it quits for good in January 2013.
But Gomez, 23, isn’t the only one that Bieber’s minimizing ties with these days. In the interview, the singer admitted that he’s been largely keeping to himself as of late.
“I kind of distanced myself from a lot of friends,” he said, “and I’m doing a lot of stuff by myself recently.”
