Clean slate! Kate Hudson ditched her engagement ring — and her makeup — in L.A., on Tuesday, Dec. 9, the day after Us Weekly confirmed that she and Matt Bellamy had split.
Hudson, 35, was dressed down in faded torn jeans by Mavi, a plaid shirt, and a bundled sweater. She clipped her blonde hair high atop her head, and revealed a fresh makeup-free face.
Noticeably missing from the Something Borrowed star's left ring finger was the stunning $200,000 emerald-cut, platinum-set diamond rock she's been wearing on the red carpet since her 2011 engagement to the Muse rocker.
Bellamy's rep told Us Weekly on Tuesday that despite the split, the parents of 3-year-old Bing are still pals. "Kate and Matt have been separated for some time now," the rep said. "Despite this, they remain very close friends and committed co-parents."
Meanwhile, Hudson has been getting cozy with Derek Hough. As Us revealed on Monday, she and the Dancing With the Stars pro, 29, have been hooking up. Last Friday, the two were spotted making out in a restaurant in L.A.
"So scandalous!" one insider told Us of the PDA session. Still, a pal close to the actress told Us that Hudson has been better after the breakup. "She says that Matt's a really great guy," the friend explained, adding that the split "wasn't anything big and emotional."
