This just makes us smile. Kate Hudson shared an adorable video and poem on Instagram on Saturday, Nov. 21, as she celebrated her mom Goldie Hawn's 70th birthday.
With Ellie Goulding's "Army" as the soundtrack, the video taken on a boat showed a party banner and cupcakes with sprinkles before it panned to the smiling birthday girl being hugged and kissed by her loving daughter.
In the poem, Hudson, 36, imagined Hawn's soul being sent down to Earth to be reborn. "Your beauty will please// Your laughter will spread// You may even meet a man and be thirty years unwed," she wrote, referencing her mom's long-term relationship with Overboard costar Kurt Russell.
"She never seemed to follow in line// Always a bit on the outside, goofy by design," the mom of two continued. "She danced her own beat// Played her own drum// Shook the worlds axis a bit being seemingly dumb."
"But dumb she was not// Smart as a whip// And her beauty was something many found hard to resist// But she had one desire that grew with the years// To be happy she says, to be happy without fear."
A few hours later Hudson shared a photo with her siblings, including brother Oliver Hudson, writing, "Off grid with my bro's and parents for a week! We'll see ya on the other side ;)"
