Katie Holmes is getting ready to host her first ever Thanksgiving dinner, and the 35-year-old actress has already ordered her turkey.
Admitting that she’s not sure how she plans to cook it, the Dawson’s Creek alum told David Letterman during her Monday, Nov. 10 appearance on The Late Show that her mom was going to teach her how to prepare a full Thanksgiving feast.
“I’m very excited because I’m the baby of five, and I’ve been using that for a long time but this year I’m taking responsibility and my mother’s going to teach me how to make a turkey,” Suri Cruise‘s mom told the show host. “I am going to pull the gizzards out,” she added laughing.
Holmes, who was married to Tom Cruise between 2006 and 2012, during which time they had their now-8-year-old daughter Suri, looked stunning in a short, low-cut silver dress as she sat chatting to Letterman. And the show host showed off culinary skills as he proceeded to try and equip Holmes with all the tips she’ll need to cook a successful first Thanksgiving meal.
“Turkey is easy, you’re going to roast it right?”
A flummoxed Holmes stumbled. “Well I don’t know, is that what you do?”
“A lot of people boil it in hot oil, I wouldn’t recommend that,” replied Letterman.
“Deep fried is so good,” continued a beaming Holmes.
