Rock of Ages star Tom Cruise officially turned 49 Sunday, but the actor was able to ring in his birthday a day early thanks to wife Katie Holmes.
Holmes, 32, threw Cruise a secret and intimate dinner party for 40 of their closest friends Saturday in Miami Beach, Fla., the New York Post reports.
Held at the posh members-only Soho Beach House, Cruise's soiree featured a sit-down Italian dinner, dancing to Cuban music and of course, a chocolate cake for dessert.
Though The Post reports Cruise's pals Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony had to decline an invite, the actor's children, Isabella, 18, Connor, 16, and Suri, 5, were there to join in the festivities.
The couple's weekend of fun comes after Cruise's long hours filming Rock of Ages in the Miami area.
Appearing as heavy metal star Stacee Jaxx in the film adaptation of the Broadway play, Cruise will belt out tunes like Jon Bon Jovi's "Wanted Dead or Alive," on the big screen.
"He can sing!" Rock of Ages director Adam Shankman assured E! News in February. "It's a miracle!"
