Kendall Jenner Struggles to Accept Dad Bruce Jenner’s Transition to Caitlyn Jenner on KUWTK: Watch

It wasn’t easy for Kendall Jenner to let go of her dad, Bruce Jenner. In a sneak peek of Season 11 of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the 19-year-old model confessed to her half-sister Khloe Kardashian that she held back on meeting Caitlyn Jenner in fear of “letting go” of her father.

“The About Bruce special is about to come out this week,” Kardashian tells the camera in the clip, referring to Caitlyn’s May KUWTK special. “Our emotions are incredibly raw in this special, and I think it’s high anxiety for all of us.”

In the special, which detailed Bruce’s transition from male to female, Kendall was especially vulnerable.

“I’m alright,” Kendall tells Khloe in the sneak peek. “I feel like it’s a process. It’s something to get used to, for sure. But the only thing is, I haven’t met her…It’s also a letting-go thing,” Kris Jenner’s second-youngest child adds. “It’s like when you officially meet her it’s like, he’s gone. I think that’s what I’m holding on to. That’s why I’ve taken so long to meet her.”

“He’s the most amazing person I know,” a tearful Kendall told the cameras during the May special. “I couldn’t ask for a better dad. He taught me how to ride a bike and be the tomboy that I am…he would drive us to school and he would be the first one in line to pick us up.”

The Lancome spokesmodel has had some time to adjust to her father’s transition since filming that tearful scene. During an interview with Women’s Wear Daily, Kendall revealed she’s known about her dad’s struggle since she was young.

“It’s been a ride, for sure. It’s an adjustment. It’s something you have to get used to,” she told the site. “But I’ve known since I was a kid. He never confirmed it to me, but I’ve known for a very long time. It’s the same person. My dad says it herself sometimes, it’s kind of like mourning the loss of someone, because it is. My dad is my dad, but he’s not there physically anymore. But she lets me call her dad — that’s the last little piece of dad I’ve got.”
