Beach volleyball player Kerri Walsh Jennings has competed in five Olympics and taken home three gold medals (and is hoping for her fourth this month). Still, as she tells Us Weekly in this exclusive “7 Things You Don’t Know About Me” video, the mom of three feels like she has more to do.
“I still haven’t figured out when I started kicking ass in volleyball,” says the Blue Diamond Almonds athlete. “I feel like I haven’t kicked ass enough yet. So I’m a work in progress.”
The outstanding athlete, who was famously pregnant with her third child, daughter Scout, 3, at the London Olympics, divulged to Us who she considers to be the greatest athlete of all time: Michael Jordan.
“He was the best in everything,” she says with no hesitation. “I think to be the best you’ve got to do it all, and he did it all, with enthusiasm and heart.”
Other reveals from the 38-year-old? Her adorable nickname: “Six Feet of Sunshine.”
“Well, I am over 6 feet. I am 6-feet-2 and a bit. My husband, [Casey Jennings], when we were falling in love and we were dating, he would always call me “Sunshine” and then he’d say, ‘Hey, Six Feet of Sunshine!’ And it would always make my heart pitter-patter. The origins of it are very, very sweet.”
