Forever grateful. Kesha thanked her supporters via Instagram on Tuesday, February 22. The “TiK ToK” singer’s fans and celebrity pals — including Taylor Swift, Demi Lovato, Lady Gaga and Jack Antonoff, among others — rushed to her aid after she was was denied an injuction to be released from her Sony contract with Dr. Luke on Friday, February 19.
“I am beyond words in gratitude. thank you is not enough but it is all I have. a million times over and forever thank you. the support I have received has left my face swollen from tears. I love you all so much,” Kesha captioned a close-up photo of herself on Instagram, adding that “a statement too large for this format is coming.”
As Us Weekly previously reported, Kesha filed a lawsuit against the producer in October 2014, claiming that he had been abusive toward her since she signed with him at age 18. Kesha claimed in her lawsuit that Dr. Luke would force drugs and alcohol on her in an attempt to make sexual advances.
Dr. Luke’s attorneys slammed Kesha’s allegations again following his Friday victory.
“As Dr. Luke has said repeatedly, the allegations against him are outright lies that have been advanced to extort a contract renegotiation and money,” the lawyers said in a statement to Us Weekly on Monday, February 22. “Kesha and her counsel have cavalierly subjected Dr. Luke and his family to trial by Twitter, using a vicious smear campaign to ruin his reputation for financial gain while failing to support their claims. Kesha to date has never verified the allegations in this case — even when given the opportunity in her affidavit. Nor has she ever offered a credible explanation as to why she would have signed a second recording agreement, recorded two albums and an EP and signed a publishing deal with Dr. Luke after allegedly being sexually abused. It will further be shown that the incidents alleged never happened.”
Kesha’s camp, however, previously told Us that Dr. Luke “threatened that if she ever mentioned the rape to anyone, he would shut her career down, take away all her publishing and recording rights, and otherwise destroy not only her life but her entire family’s lives as well” so Kesha “never dared talk about, let alone report, what Dr. Luke had done to her.”
