The social media queen, who has spent the last 48 hours embroiled in a very public online feud with stars such as Bette Midler and Chloe Grace Moretz who criticized her recent naked selfies, branched out into the new platform on Wednesday, March 9.
The mum of two encouraged her 62.9 million Instagram followers to join her on the app early on Wednesday morning, by sharing a photo of her very first post.
The picture showed Kim pouting for the camera alongside her older sister, Kourtney Kardsahian. "My very 1st snap!!!" she captioned the photo.
Kanye West's wife also publicized her new departure in a tweet: "Snapchat alert! I'm finally on!" she wrote.
Kardashian's move to Snapchat puts her in even more direct competition with her younger half-sister Kylie Jenner, who currently has the most viewed account on the social media platform.
And if the duo's Instagram numbers are anything to go by, Jenner may have a challenge on her hands! Kim, 35, currently tops the Instagram contest with almost 63 million followers, while Jenner is about 10 million down.
Earlier on Tuesday, Kim wrote a blog post to defend her right to feel "empowered" by stripping off and feeling proud of her body, after criticism from Midler, Moretz and more recently, Pink. She also acknowledged her husband, West, for being totally "accepting and supportive" of her decisions.
