Kim Kardashian, the mover and shaker, y’all. The inescapable reality star will be honored with the first-ever Break the Internet Award at the annual Webby Awards on May 16, according to a statement released on Wednesday, May 11.

The mother of two, 35, has created a social media empire for herself and has sent the Internet into a tizzy on numerous occasions — grounds deserving of the inaugural award, according to the Webby Awards website.

“It would be difficult to underestimate the importance of Kim Kardashian West’s impact on the Internet,” the statement reads. “As the leading celebrity in terms of her online presence and understanding of how to connect with a global audience via social media, apps and online video, Kim has set the standard incredibly high.”

The release goes on to praise Mrs. Kanye West’s ability to shape “our understanding of how someone or something can draw the popular attention of Internet users everywhere,” and how she’s “created a new type of celebrity.”

“Kim’s preternatural sense of being in the public eye, sees her appearing at seemingly every major cultural moment, most notably, her support of Caitlyn Jenner’s sex change,” the statement continues. “Likewise, with her suite of apps including the latest, Kimoji, which skyrocketed to the top of the most-downloaded list, Kim has expanded her celebrity into new territories and, safe to say, to a high degree of success as well.”

In March, the Selfish author caused an uproar online after she posted a fully nude selfie to her Instagram account, with Photoshopped black bars covering her private parts.
