Kirsten Dunst: There's Nothing Embarrassing About Depression

Kirsten Dunst isn't the only one struggling with depression.

The 29-year-old actress, who sought treatment at Cirque Lodge in 2008, tells the November issue of Flare that she wants to erase the stigma associated with the mood disorder.

"People are embarrassed to talk about it," she explains. "I would never put anyone down that was in that kind of space."

Through treatment, Dunst realized that it's normal to go through low periods. "I think that most human beings go through some sort of depression in their life," she says. "And if they don't, I think that's weird."

The actress -- currently filming Bachelorette with James Marsden and Isla Fisher -- said the experience helped her emote in the upcoming drama Melancholia.

"It was really hard for me to watch because I don't recognize myself in parts of that film," Dunst tells Flare. "It weirds me out a little bit. Like my voice change, this look in my eye. It scared me a little bit."
