The Twilight Saga star, 19, plays a 16 year-old runaway stripper and occasional prostitute in the movie, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah on Saturday. In her first scene, she dances on a stripper pole wearing platforms, fishnets, a micro-mini skirt and a bra, and eventually offers a lapdance to costar James Gandolfini. In several later scenes, audiences catch a glimpse of Stewart's bare rear end. Her raunchy character swears like a sailor and stashes cash in her underpants.

On the red carpet Saturday, Stewart admitted to reporters that she was a bit freaked out "the first time I put on all the fishnets...I really tried to own it though." She shot the indie weeks before Twilight's blockbuster release in fall 2008. "I was able to walk around the streets," she explained. "I was literally walking down the street in cut-off shorts and a robe that was cinched. I looked like a crackhead!"

"My character's not sultry, not sexy," Stewart clarified. "She sort of throws herself into all her moves. I tore myself up doing it."

And her first time up on the stripper pole -- she trained with a stripper for two weeks -- was a little traumatic. "I wanted to do it in my clothes," she explained on the red carpet. Her stripper trainer 'was like, 'No, you don't stick to the poll when you do that.'"

She's a talentless little troll. Playing a stripper is actually a step up for her.

i think this will be a good move for her. it will help her branch out into different roles and grow as an actress. the stripper label won't stay with her. she's only 19, she'll escape the stereotype.
Big career mistake Kristen. Take a look at Anna Kendrick, go the high road. That could have been you at the awards shows. You're talented, just making some dumb choices. Sorta like Lindsey L. Love you with Rob though.
It is sad to me that out of all the young actresses these days most will end up losing their careers over drugs, Kristin included. I mean look at her. Every photo I see of her she is high. OBVIOUSLY high. And can someone please do her makeup for her. Her eyes are gorgeous and she mucks them up with unprofessional eye makeup artestry. I hope she doesnt end up ruining her career. She has potential, unlike the Paris's and Nicole's and most especially the Tara's. At least Kristin can act, now stay away from the drugs girl.

I can't believe you people would stoop to trashing a 19-year-old! Judging by the # of spelling and grammatical errors in these posts, i can only assume that they've been written mostly by obsessive"tweenage" girls, or by jealous R.P. fans who have a grade 10 education at best.
