Lamar Odom's ex Liza Morales mourned their late son, Jayden, via Twitter on what would have been the child's 10th birthday on Tuesday, December 15.

"Happy 10th Birthday to our Guardian Angel, our beloved son, Jayden," Morales wrote alongside a graphic of colorful balloons floating in the air. "#BirthdayInHeaven."

Odom and Morales were in a relationship for 10 years. They share two kids, Destiny and Lamar Jr. Their youngest, Jayden, passed away in 2006 at 6 months old from SIDS (sudden infant death syndrome).

Morales discussed the devastating loss in a 2012 interview with former parenting blog Mommy's Dirty Little Secrets. "The loss was traumatic for both of us. We just dealt with it in different ways," she said at the time. "I had to depend on my spirituality . . . Lamar turned to work. He had his music he was working on, a clothing company and an artist he was working with — that's how he dealt. I was alone during that time, but at least I had my family and friends. The loss never leaves you, but it does get better. We have pictures of Jayden around the house and the kids and I talk about him all the time. We are in a place of peace and acceptance."

This past October, Morales and the kids flew out to Las Vegas to be with Odom as he remained in critical condition after being found unconscious in a Nevada brothel. After spending nearly 72 hours in a coma, the former basketball star finally opened his eyes, much to the shock of everyone, including Morales.

"The TRUTH is God is good. All the time," Morales tweeted at the time. "Continued prayers for my children and their father. Thank you for the support and well wishes."

Odom was subsequently transferred to Cedars-Sinai hospital in L.A., where he is still going through rehabilitation. A source told Us Weekly last week that Odom, 36, has been improving. “He actually gets a little better every day,” the insider told Us in an update. “He talks a bit more each day and walks with a walker, but still has trouble processing his thoughts. It’s very slow but little by little.”

Odom remains legally married to his estranged wife, Khloe Kardashian, who was faced with making difficult medical decisions while he remained unconscious in October. "This year has been absolutely horrible, but it’s almost done," Kardashian shared recently via her app. "I’m just praying that 2016 will be better. It has to be."

Meanwhile, Morales wrote on Thanksgiving Day that she was "so grateful" for Odom's recovery while alluding to some tense situations.
