The pair, who taped a segment with Hallmark Channel’s Home & Family Thursday, August 25, did not shy away when hosts Mark Steines and Debbie Matenopoulos asked them about reports that surfaced earlier in the day of the former CNN host’s wife of 19 years’ alleged extramarital relationship.

“You said an interesting word, ‘rumor,’” the journalist, 82, started. “I’ve been in the business — next May, it’ll be 60 years — and I’ve dealt with rumors a long time. Interviewed people involved with rumors. Rumors are what they are — they’re rumors. And I tell you the truth, I don’t pay any attention to them.”

Shawn, who is the veteran newsman’s eighth wife, also chimed in. “Last week, there was a rumor going around about Larry and a speech he made in Kiev,” she said. “This week, I’m the latest pinup girl. You just have to develop a shell around yourself and not get hard on the inside, and stick together.”

The two later went on to share with the hosts how they like to make their bed. Matenopoulos then ordered the couple to get onto the mattress that the Kings had been demonstrating their bed-making skills on.

"All those rumors, we're gonna put them to rest right now!" she declared as the longtime pair then wrapped their arms around each other.

As Us Weekly previously reported, the television host was heartbroken after reports surfaced that Shawn, 56, allegedly had a yearlong affair. The man she was allegedly in a relationship with was motivational speaker Richard Greene, according to Page Six.

“He was blindsided,” an insider told Us of the broadcaster. “Larry is hurt and sad about the allegations. He doesn’t know what to do. They haven’t made any decisions about their marriage yet."

The pair, who married in 1997, are parents to sons Chance, 17, and Cannon, 16.

Lawyers for the Kings, as well as a rep for Greene, told Page Six that the story of the affair is “inaccurate.”

Us Weekly has reached out to Greene’s rep for comment.

Home & Family airs on Hallmark weekdays at 10 a.m. ET. The Kings' interview airs Friday.
