Is it turkey time yet? Lauren Conrad shared her favorite side dishes for Thanksgiving, and now we can’t wait to make them ourselves.

“Thanksgiving is only a few days away, and I could not be more excited,” the fashion designer, 29, wrote on her blog on Monday, Nov. 23. “If you need a couple of sides to go along with your turkey this year, look no further than these two tasty dishes.”

So which is our favorite? The Hills alum seriously upgraded the usual Thanksgiving cornbread, opting instead for a modern spoon bread recipe baked in single-serving pans.

“This cornbread created by Urban Palate makes for the cutest appetizer when presented in its own mini skillet,” she explained. “You can add a bit of your favorite green salsa to up the spice factor, or garnish with the herbs of your choosing. Either way, this is guaranteed to be better than your average Thanksgiving side dish.”

She also shared a recipe for a Tuscan kale salad.

“When you’re sitting down at a table that’s filled with dishes like mashed potatoes, buttery bread rolls, and pecan pie, it’s always nice to have a leafy green option,” Conrad suggested. “And just because you’re including a salad, that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice flavor.”
