Lawyer: Larry King, Wife Halt Divorce Proceedings For 2 Weeks

Larry King and Shawn Southwick have halted their divorce proceedings, an attorney for King confirmed Monday.

"Larry and Shawn met with a counselor today," King's lawyer Dennis Wasser tells UsMagazine.com. "It was decided that there will be no activity for two weeks as several issues need to be discussed and resolved."
Last Wednesday, King, 76, and Southwick, 50, both filed divorce papers, citing irreconcilable differences. The couple wed in 1997 and have two sons: Chance, 11, and Cannon, 9.

In her filing, Southwick had asked for primary custody of their kids, plus spousal and child support.
Southwick is King's seventh wife, but the CNN star has actually been wed eight times: King and Alene Aknis divorced in 1962, remarried in 1967, and finally divorced again in 1972.

"My major concern is the welfare of my children," King said in his statement to Us last week.

King's wife married him for his money. She's LDS and marrying outside the Mormon faith (she descend's from Mormon royalty, like Romney... bwa hahahaha). As if a woman almost 25 younger, would be truly interested in anything other than $M$O$N$E$Y$....Hello Larry? What were you thinking??? The name "Cannon" is distinctively LDS (surname/doctrine) and King should be ashamed of himself for having kids with her, knowing these boys would be taught they were literally of a false "priesthood." What Larry King and Shawn need to do most of all is GROW UP. This is not just about them, it is about the two boys they brought into the world and who are in need and deserving of a loving and STABLE family life. If they really love those boys, they will do whatever it takes to reconcile and move on to a happy, solid,loving relationship.
I so hope they can work this out. I just think Larry King is a great guy.

I agree with another commentor, King should get off the air and let someone else have a chance, he's already made more millions than he'd ever need. His show ranks below even Gretta Vansustren. Can you imagine, a few months ago, King was caught on tape complaining that Anderson Cooper was getting more air-time than he was. Someone else should also be off the air, the skeletal, Babara Walters, who's been making millions for forty years. For them it is not about the money anymore, its about mingleing with celebrities and wallow in their fame. They should get their wrinkled asses off the air and disappear. For heavens sake, Johnny Carson did it. Give some younger person a chance to make their millions.
