Leah Remini Says She Was Disciplined by Scientology Officials for Telling Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes to “Get a Freaking Room”

They couldn’t handle the truth. In a new preview clip from Leah Remini‘s 20/20 interview airing Friday, Oct. 30, the actress claims that she was “written up” by the Church of Scientology after one particular incident involving Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes.

The King of Queens star, 45, who defected from the church in July 2013 after more than 30 years, recalled how one night she was invited over to Cruise’s L.A.-area estate. In the call, a church official said: “‘Tom wants you to come over and teach him salsa dancing.'”

When Remini and her husband, Angelo Pagan, arrived at Cruise’s home, they were greeted by two “high-ranking Scientology officials,” Cruise, and his then-girlfriend Holmes. (The couple first began dating in 2005.)

“He was like, forcibly kissing Katie,” Remini recalled. “And I said, ‘Hey, get a freaking room.’ And uh, well. I was written up for that.”

According to Remini, one of the officials reported the incident to the church. “You can assume if you say something that is critical to the church, you will be written up,” Remini dished, adding that church members wrote up “knowledge reports on one another for breaking rules.”

She said the accused would have to answer to these reports in auditing sessions, which created an atmosphere of distrust. Remini admitted that she was guilty of submitting these reports as well. “Hell yeah!” she told 20/20. “I wrote Angelo up all the time!”

As previously claimed, Remini had several other thoughts about Cruise’s mega influence on the church. “Being critical of Tom Cruise is being critical of Scientology itself,” she said in a clip blasted earlier this week. The actress added that anyone who dared to speak out otherwise was dubbed “evil.”

Remini has publicly denounced Scientology since her headline-making departure, prompting the church on one occasion this past May to release a statement to Us Weekly. “Given Leah Remini’s insatiable desire for attention, it comes as no surprise that for two years she has been incapable of moving on with her life,” a spokesperson for the Church of Scientology told Us at the time. “And she remains obsessed with shamelessly exploiting her former religion in a pathetic attempt to get publicity.”

As seen in security footage in the above clip, the church also hand-delivered a packet of “damning” information about Remini to ABC’s offices, claiming that Remini was “expelled from Scientology for ‘ethical lapses.'”

According to ABC News, Katie Holmes will speak out about Remini on tonight’s episode. Remini’s memoir, Troublemaker: Surviving Hollywood and Scientology, will hit shelves on Nov. 3. Her 20/20 interview will air Friday, Oct. 30, at 10 p.m. on ABC. Click here to see which celebs are Scientologists.
