Lee Thompson Young To Be Honored After Death in Season 5 of Rizzoli & Isles

Rizzoli & Isles is giving one of its own a proper goodbye. Late series star Lee Thompson Young, who committed suicide last August, will be honored in the show's upcoming fifth season, Angie Harmon announced via Twitter on Wednesday, March 19.

"Hope you enjoyed @RizzoliIslesTNT season 4 finale," the actress tweeted. "Season 5 eps 1&2 address our beloved Lee w/ love, honor & respect. Thank you @JanNash100."

Nash is Rizzoli & Isles' executive producer. Prior to the fourth season finale on March 18, she told fans the cast would not be live-tweeting the episode "out of respect for our colleague Lee Thompson Young."

Young, who played Boston detective Barry Frost on the show, was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound on Aug. 19, 2013. He was 29 years old. Shortly after news broke of his passing, Rizzoli & Isles creator Janet Tamaro took to Twitter to pay tribute to the actor.

"We are all without the words to truly express our collective grief and profound sadness at the loss of such a sweet, bright light," she wrote. "We are broken-hearted."
